Outils Oceans is a brand-new product range at Upffront which we are very excited to introduce. However, the marine division of this Brittany (France) based company has been working, in collaboration with racers and offshore sailors, for many years to create a range of lightweight sturdy rope bags and accessories.

As sailors we are always looking for things to be lighter because ultimately that’s going to help us go faster! Outils Oceans claim that on average they are 20% lighter than your regular rope bag or storage pocket, because they are manufactured with advanced materials and the uniquely tailored design ensures durability in all conditions.

These products have a quick fixation system allowing easy installation and fast removal for cleaning, maintenance and protection from UV when not in use. The range allows you to easily tailor solutions to suit any style of racing or cruising, optimising space for whatever size of boat.

The attention to detail is clear with the range of products developed by Outils Oceans. For example, the sleek design displayed by their winch handle pockets shows they take efficiency seriously with a clear understanding of practical realities of sailing. A simple inclined cut-out on the upper lip of the pocket means the winch handle automatically sits against the cockpit side in the same orientation every time. You can buy port and starboard winch handle pockets, which allows you to choose the direction the winch handle will be stowed with respect to winch positions and/or bulkheads, etc.

There are many options to choose from tailoring for personal choice or specifics required for conditions you're about to set sail in. More protection is offered by the closed rope bag design or the open rope bags for the more to hand stow lines (halyards, sheets...) flaked and ready to run.

Summary

Outils Oceans really did have the sailor in mind when developing these products and it’s obvious that there was a collaboration with serious racers. Every little detail in each product has been thought through with a clear objective and the final range has you covered in all conditions. Practical, durable and ultimately lighter!
