Performance to the Core
Gottifredi Maffoli Superswift features a Compact 78 core. Compact 78 is a single braid polyurethane covered Dyneema®. Thanks to the short braiding angle, the Compact 78 is abrasion resistant and stays tight, even when bent around hard corners.
Adaptability
Unlike traditional boat rope, the construction of Superswift allows for the cover to be easily removed, exposing a lighter, thinner and more flexible core section. This means that the rope can be used comfortably in the hands with the cover, while also being light and easy to splice (without the cover) at the working end. The covered end provides a very reliable grip when used with ratchets or cleats while a tapered core section runs more freely through friction rings and blocks.
Holding Power
Superswift line features a Dyneema® + non-slip fiber braided cover to improve comfort and grip. The mixture of Dyneema® and polyester means that the cover protects against abrasions yet allows the user consistent handling and precision.
Superswift is popular on boats with high sheet loads where perfect grip is essential.
Where to use Superswift
Superswift is available in four sizes 5, 6.5, 8 and 9. 5mm diameters, with break loads ranging from 900 – 2950 kg and is most commonly used in main, jib and gennaker sheets on dinghies / sports boats. It is also excellent for control lines on larger yachts and light air Gennaker sheets.
