If you’re a regular visitor to Upffront.com, you will have noticed two new impressive additions to our website: the Bamar RLG EVO Gennaker Furling and the Bamar GFM Manual Foresail Furling systems.

Although a mere drop in the ocean of Bamar’s extensive furling range, Upffront.com are thrilled to launch our Bamar collection with these two well-engineered product ranges.

But this is just the beginning; with more Bamar products planned to hit our website soon, let’s find out about the brand who are focused on manufacturing innovative furling solutions.

Hailing from Northern Italy, sail handling equipment company Bamar are over 40 years old and on a mission to create sleek, performance orientated furling designs that aim to ‘partially automate sailing operations’.

As the marine division of a larger engineering company, Bamar are able to utilise extensive experience and resources in the production and design evolution of their top-class furling systems, winning many international acknowledgements and awards.

A notable testament to the superior quality of the Bamar furling systems sits on the prestigious ‘Sailing Yacht A’. As the biggest private sail-assisted motor yacht in the world – owned by Russian billionaire Andrey Melnichenko – Bamar were tasked with supplying all of the fully automated mainsail handling and reefing systems. This ground breaking project set new limits on what was physically possible, and Bamar’s custom furlers and actuators are at the heart of this complex, but successful, project.

With a proven superyacht track record, plus years of professionalism and engineering excellence, Bamar now bring their technical expertise into an extensive range of furling systems for smaller boats. Whether you're looking for genoas, gennakers or main sails - or hydraulic, manual or electric furling – Bamar have a high quality solution available.

Over time, Upffront.com will be adding more of Bamar’s furling systems to our website, and we will be gradually introducing increasingly popular electric systems for boats from 50-70ft.
